What about before and after care?
What do I do to prepare for my treatment?
1. Please shave the area you are going to get treated. Do not pluck, and do not bleach for at least one week prior to treatment.
2. Do not put on any lotion, make-up, creams, deodorant, or perfumes.
3. Do not use any Retinal-A, topical vitamin A, or Accutane, Obagi® up to 3 days prior to treatment.
4. Avoid taking fish oil up to three days before treatment.
5. If you take herbal supplements such as Ginko, ginseng or garlic may cause bruising. So, if you don't want to risk it, stop taking them 3-5 days prior to treatment.
6. If you have a problem with Herpes, take your medication as directed by your physician before your treatment.
7. If you have any open sores in the area to be treated, you need to re-schedule until the sore is completely healed.
What do I expect after my treatment?
1. Immediately after the treatment, there may be mild redness and slight swelling, and may feel like a sunburn. It usually takes up to 2 hours, for the redness to go away, but it depends on the individual. Usually clients will forget all about it in that time frame.
2. Use of sun block 15 SPF or higher is recommended. You will be given sun block before you leave (for the face).
3. Do not use Retinal-A. topical vitamin A, or Accutane during your laser process.
4. Refrain from using Obagi® for up to 3 days after (on the face).
5. Do not exfoliate, use drying astringents, scrubs or Alpha/Beta-Hydroxy acids on treated area.
6. You may shower, use mild soap and water. Pat the skin dry.
7. Keep skin moisturized.
8. The hair that is lasered will look like it is growing, but it is actually working its way out. The laser does not destroy the hair. This is normal, just shave it off. Resist plucking, waxing and bleaching between treatments. On larger parts of your body, the hair will actually grow in patches. This too is normal.
9. You WILL be given a copy of the "Aftercare Instructions" to take home with you.
